HORSES AND SOLES II by Samuel Amazing Ayoade

It was you, yes the white you
That took away our many wives
And subjected us to monogamy
This same you
That drew us closer to divinity
Now draws us away from sanctity
In your sane insanity
You teach Ada to marry Simbi
And Edet and Ali

The fact that I am black
And I sleep with my head
Doesn’t mean I sleep on my reasoning
Call me justice for that I am
To bring equity
Between those horses and these soles.
